Ah, March! Time to change the clocks, lose an hour, look around and realize it’s nine o’clock at night and nobody’s in bed yet. Whoops! This bodes well…

Also in March: things start to look springy! With insects and everything!

ladybug

Ladybug, ladybug, fly away home. Or don’t, you’re really fun to watch.
But wait, how did you get into the kitchen?
Now I have to catch you and put you out again.
Might as well have let you fly away the first time.

worm

This guy does not look like he’s been doing his gardening duties.
Eat more dirt, buddy! It’s okay to put on a few more wormy grams!

another worm

And another! Enmeshed in all that dirt somewhere. Neat.
(I love how, when you upload a picture to wordpress,
it tells you to add a description such as: “The Mona Lisa.”
And then I type: “another worm.” So cultured!)

bird

And then this guy shows up, to eat them all.
(What kind of bird is this, you ask? I have no idea.)

dead spider with egg sac

Except he won’t eat this one, given that it’s already dead.
Hello, terrifying spider egg sac.
