My name. Plans aplenty. Not kept.
Missing pieces. Junk mail. Not kept.
Kept: outgrown clothes. shoes. jackets. hats.
Kept: every story they’ve ever written.
Kept: enough photos to cover mountains.
Plan to keep: enjoying being mama,
squeezing out every drop of cute.
(Gotta have something to savor later.)
(kept to one topic? not really…)
……
Our topic this week: KEPT. Secrets? Promises? Bank notes?
Have you kept going, kept believing, kept wishing? What have you kept up on lately?
Need details? Want me to email you next week’s topic? No problem. Here.

So much to treasure in old stories and photos. You must be very organized!
Not really, but most of them are still small enough to have not written much yet.
(And oh the disorganization of photos! I don’t even want to think about it. But I’ll keep them!)
What’s been kept/not kept tells us a lot about ourselves! The scrapbooker (and mom) in me loves that both the photos and those stories are in the kept pile!
So many things aren’t kept, and I sometimes feel really guilty about that. But if I spend all my time and energy and space (!) on the keeping, I won’t have any left for living right now. So… stories and pictures yes, most everything else no.
I love those keepsakes…it so hard to keep them all.
Yup. I think so too.
The other post I planned was about all the things (clutter) I have kept. Mostly because it might be useful one day. Photos are not in that category. They are fulfilling their usefulness immediately. (and someday I hope to say I kept up–I mean caught up with scrapbooking and/or framing them
I may never catch up! But thinking about that too hard will derail me, so let’s just pretend I believe I will get there one day.
Ha! I RARELY keep to one topic. I love what you keep!
Keeping to one topic is hard! My brain’s more of a hop-everywhere-er.
Squeezing out every drop of cute – yes. Me too.
I know there will always be more, but *this particular moment* of cute will only happen once, so… gotta soak it up. Mmm hmm.
Not keeping to one topic seems perfect for a post about all those things that come with motherhood.
Motherhood never does let us stick with one thing at a time, does it?
Very in tune with the moving theme at our house. How did you know?
I can sense these things. (Also I read your blog.) (Also also the process of keep-give-toss is forever ongoing for me, moving or not!)
Oh, thanks for the laugh, Melissa. At your expense I guess. For not keeping to the same topic. But, you’re right about squeezing out every drop to be savored later. We MUST do that!!
I sort of hope that ‘laughs at my expense’ is the theme of this here blog.
Bits and pieces. Each one important!
Each one worth keeping and savoring.
I keep the clothes with the excuse that I will make them into a quilt for me because I treasure the memories in those random pieces of fabric!
That would be a supercool use of tiny fabrics! Should it ever happen, I do expect to see fantastic pictures.
