Because sometimes I need to remember. And sometimes I need to convince myself.
- No fevers. No coughs or runny noses (okay, almost none).
- Visiting with friends that we hadn’t seen in two weeks, since no one seemed to want to hang out with us while we were infectious.
- Getting out of the house. Goodbye, house. Oh look, you’re still messy when we get back.
- Sleeping. Two days this week I was not still awake at 2:00 in the morning. Yesterday was not one of them.
- Sliced oranges. Yum.
- Remembering that I am not nearly as sick this pregnancy as I was last time. (Last time was the sickest I’d ever been while pregnant, so this is a very good thing.) Of course, then I remember that I’ve also been way less sick than this while pregnant, which is a less-helpful thought. Still, there are sometimes whole hours when I don’t feel like throwing up. Sometimes.
- Did I mention the sliced oranges? Because: yum.

Oh man, the pregnancy sickness. I envy the pregnancy, but so totally NOT the sickness. Good thing it’s short-lived, right?
Dane likes to remind me that the nausea and constant headache and exhaustion will surely go away just as soon as the baby is born. So helpful! Sometimes it does get better before that. Last time I was sick through the entire pregnancy. Woohoo!
I was sick, sick, sick with my girls and less so with my boys. One part of pregnancy I do NOT miss!!
Yeah, not my favorite part either.
“Goodbye, house. Oh look, you’re still messy when we get back.”
That always strikes me as one of the less reasonable things about the world. Houses should self-clean when you’re not looking, in my humble opinion.
Heck, I’d even be okay with self-cleaning when I *was* looking.
