So jealous of your chorus of angels. I've always been mystified by mine's willingness to nap but only get 8 hours at night. wtf? kids sleep at night, dude. Do it!
Your point about less sleep equaling fewer creative solutions: that should be in physics books. I can't think straight about helping small people sleep when I'm not sleeping.
Indicator lights. Yes.

We seem to be following the same developmental path over here.

My baby is 23 months old, and is already NOT napping twice a week. Though when she doesn't nap, she does wake up in the night once, during an otherwise 13-hour stretch of sleep. When she does nap, she always sleeps through the night (an 11-12 hour stretch). So I think she needs it now, but won't need it soon.

My kids all stopped napping at age two as well. As much as I hated the idea of not having that time during the day, it was well worth it to get that uninterrupted sleep at night! Here's to a good night's sleep!
