We have no New Year’s traditions. None. Unless you count putting the kids to bed early and listening to the neighbor set off firecrackers out in the street.
Every year I think maybe we ought to do something or other as a family to mark the occasion, but… we don’t. I don’t think it’s such a kid-friendly holiday, this New Year’s Eve thing. Plus, what do my kids care about the new year, when their heads are still full of Christmas? Or maybe I just haven’t figured out how to make it relevant to them yet.
I’m still thinking on that. But for this year: jammies and books and seven o’clock bedtimes don’t sound too bad.

You New Year’s is a mirror image of ours. I doubt I’ll even make it to midnight tonight. Have a great one!
News Years Eve is definitely not a kid-friendly holiday. When I see invites for parties that last until 1 am, I think fun! Except, kids. Bedtimes. Not a chance.
Happy New Years! Bedtimes sound quite wonderful to me!
Happy New Years
We are celebrating just the two of us… after two little ones go to bed… but not nearly in the elaborate way we used to. Funny how things change.
Hope you all enjoyed your night, whichever kind you had!
I’ve always though New Years Eve was overrated. A night in with some good food and movies sounds just right to me! Besides, it’s everything I can do to even stay awake until midnight anymore, much less party all night!
