Hey, guess what! My eye is pretty much totally kind of better! Better enough that I can read a little bit at a time, as long as I’ve taken over-the-counter pain meds! (I know, you were not wondering about my eye, and I know, this is boring and kind of gross. Sorry.)
Anyway. Instead of the scratched cornea pain, now I have completely lost my voice. Why? I do not know. I had a cold last week, and I’m guessing I didn’t give it enough attention (what with the eyeball injury and all), so it’s looking for retribution.
On the one hand, when I whisper, the kids all whisper back. So it’s pleasantly quiet around here. On the other hand, if they can’t hear me, they don’t respond at all, quietly or not.
I just cannot win this week.

Oh my Melissa. Now your voice. Take care of yourself. Talking is over rated anyways. You did teach the kids baby-sign, right?
Actually, I was wondering about your eye, it’s just been an intense week and I haven’t been commenting so much… and I’m not easily grossed out anyhow. : )
Also! You don’t say your throat is sore, but I have to tell everyone whenever I can, my favorite remedy for a sore throat is strong licorice tea. Like, regular Stash brand or whatever licorice spice tea, use two bags and brew for 10 or 15 minutes. It’s pretty amazing.
I want to say I hope you’re getting plenty of rest, but then I remember you have four kids… I do hope you feel well soon!!!
I didn’t know you were sick, but I came back to school with a cold from *somebody* I hung out with during the break. Thanks. I guess I have voicelessness to look forward to…
I’ve been drinking throat coat, but I could pick up some licorice spice. Interesting.
Ry: sorry… come home again soon, okay? I’ll stock up on more interesting germs.
